Cascade Jetty PASSENGER AND FREIGHT SHIPS

Watch the unloading of the Cargo ship and Passenger liners from the property.

Due to Norfolk Island’s rugged coastline and the lack of a sheltered anchorage, ships anchor about 1km offshore. Cargo at Norfolk Island is unloaded by the ships derricks into lighters which are then towed ashore by motorised launches.

Their are two Jetty on Norfolk Island one at Kingston and Cascade. Unloading of freight and passengers is most often at Cascade where our guests enjoy observation point.

The Cascade jetty which is visible from our property is approximately 25 metres in length
